Shirley Parsons is partnered with a leading renewable energy owner/operator to identify an experienced Safety Manager to support utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. This individual will act as the Owner's Representative
, providing HSSE oversight for both operational assets and construction activities while partnering closely with contractors, subcontractors, and operations teams to ensure best-in-class safety performance.

• Locations: Columbus, North Carolina or Virginia
• Estimated Duration: 12 months with potential extension

• Serve as the primary HSSE representative for utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities during both construction and operational phases.
• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of the company's HSSE Management System.
• Conduct field audits, inspections, site assessments, and contractor safety evaluations.
• Oversee contractor and subcontractor compliance with OSHA regulations and client safety requirements.
• Review contractor HSSE plans, pre-qualification documentation, and site-specific safety programs.
• Support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams through safety audits, inspections, and corrective action management.
• Monitor and report safety performance metrics, OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and compliance reporting.
• Lead site safety meetings, committee meetings, and emergency response planning exercises.
• Deliver HSSE training for employees and contractors while reinforcing a strong safety culture.
• Partner with Operations, Construction, and Leadership teams to identify risks and implement proactive safety initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal and state safety regulations.
• Support Management of Change (MOC), policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• 5+ years of Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE/EHS) experience supporting renewable energy projects.
• Utility-scale solar experience is required.
• Operations & Maintenance (O&M) management experience is required.
• Previous Owner's Representative or owner/operator safety experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting solar, battery energy storage (BESS), or renewable power generation facilities.
• Strong background managing contractor safety and performing field audits and inspections.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and construction safety regulations.
• Experience with incident investigations, OSHA 300 logs, safety reporting platforms, and performance metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems.
• CSP, ASP, OSHA 30, or similar professional certifications are highly preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
