Position: Receptionist (Weekends)

Receptionist (Weekends)

Location: Puller Veterans Center

Agency: Dept of Veterans Services

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Job Duties
  • Front‑desk operations: answer multi‑line phone calls, transfer calls to appropriate personnel, greet residents, families, guests and visitors, and manage sign‑in procedures.
  • Fire alarm monitor: monitor the fire alarm system and facility cameras.
  • Meal ticket transactions: sell meal tickets to guests, family members and employees; handle vending machine refunds and reimbursements; maintain a daily cash log.
  • Recordkeeping: maintain daily activity logs for the shift, log postage, record medications in the pharmacy logbook, and coordinate medication releases with units.
  • General facility support: handle vending machine transactions, communicate vending issues to the supervisor, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Emergency assistance: may be required to assist the agency or state government during declared emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of front‑desk operations, including greeting visitors, answering phones, routing calls, and sign‑in procedures.
  • Understanding of basic office practices such as scheduling, filing, data entry, and document handling.
  • Customer‑service skills appropriate for a healthcare or long‑term care environment.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and visitor protocols in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Citizenship or lawful permanent resident status; must be authorized to work in the United States.
