Front Desk Agent - MFBVA

Responsibilities

• Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience.
• Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, both in person and on the phone.
• Take and manage guest bookings, identify up‑selling opportunities, and inform guests about ways to enhance their stay.
• Handle cash and credit transactions.
• Check guests in and out promptly – collect IDs, hand out room keys, and control safety deposit boxes.
• Anticipate guests’ needs – record preferences and respond to messages, requests, questions, and concerns.
• Act as a trusted contact for all guests, assisting with bill issues, local knowledge, and escalating to management when necessary.
• Maintain safety – follow procedures, report incidents, and wear required protective gear.
• Present a professional appearance and embody a brand ambassador.
• Stay informed about daily events and activities.
• Assist colleagues with ad‑hoc duties as required.

• Excellent communication skills to address concerns and compliments.
• Strong problem‑solving ability to convert issues into positive experiences.
• Fluency in the local language; additional languages are a plus.
• Literacy and computer proficiency – basic reading, writing, math, and technology.
• Willingness to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college or university degree a bonus.
• At least one year of experience in a front desk or guest service role preferred.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull items up to 50 lbs (23 kg), including bending and kneeling.
