Duties and Tasks
- Performs routine office support activities
- Provide customer service to students and division visitors
- Answers phones and emails
- Assist with contacting students following course changes and enrollment cancellations
- Helps enroll students in classes and helps them understand their schedules
- Provides administrative support to the ENG / ESL Administrative Assistant, Associate Dean and ENG / ESL faculty
- May be required to maintain records and filing systems
- Applies knowledge of basic office practices, procedures and equipment (customer service, telephone computer, copier)
- Serves as first point of contact for the division if needed
- Applies knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling and basic mathematics
- Customer service skills and phone etiquette
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to learn new technologies
- Ability to work well under supervision
- Oral and written communication skills in English
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working in customer service
- Experience working in an office setting.
- Experience answering phones and emails
- Proficiency in a foreign language
- Experience with educational setting
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
