Join the DMV Team! The Virginia DMV seeks a service-driven, detail-oriented professional to join our Lebanon Customer Service Center as a Part-Time Customer Service Technician. In this role, you’ll provide front-line customer support, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and help Virginians access the essential services they need.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Customer Service Technician, your primary focus will be ensuring accuracy and quality in the work processed at our Customer Service Centers. You’ll play a key role in supporting DMV operations by:

  • Performing liability audits on customer transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Review entries in our automated system and flag any critical errors for management follow-up.

  • Logging findings using an automated tracking form helps keep service standards high and operations running smoothly.

But that’s not all—this is a dynamic position where every day brings something new.

You may also:
  • Assist customers in person by reviewing, analyzing, and processing a wide range of transactions such as vehicle registrations, titling, tax collection, and issuing driver’s licenses and IDs.

  • Use a variety of systems and tools, including cash drawers, credit card machines, and DMV computer modules.

  • Administer vision screenings and both written and electronic driving tests.

  • Ensure that all services are completed per state and federal guidelines.

We provide comprehensive training to help you succeed in every part of this role, even if you're new to DMV processes or auditing tasks.

We’d love to hear from you if:
  • You enjoy helping people and solving problems.

  • You are detail-oriented, reliable, and ready to learn.

  • You’re looking for a job that’s more than just a job—a chance to grow, serve your community, and be part of a supportive team.

This wage position is limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 months of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12 months.

This wage position offers no state benefits.
