Library Technician

Join our team to deliver exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages while keeping daily library operations running smoothly. As a key frontline team member, you will handle daily desk operations, assist patrons with technology, support collection management, and represent the library at community events.

• Customer Service & Frontline Operations:
  Provide friendly, high-quality assistance to all patrons. Serve as the acting service desk lead in the supervisor's absence to manage workflow and process daily reports.
• Technology & Support:
  Help patrons use computers, copiers, and software. Perform basic troubleshooting for public technology and office equipment, and deliver technology training to staff and the public.
• Collection & Department Liaison:
  Maintain the library collection by coordinating recalled and withdrawn materials, acting as the primary point of contact between Material Services and public service staff.
• Financial & Administrative:
  Accurately handle cash transactions, process daily financial report, and may serve as a certified Passport Acceptance Agent.
• Community Engagement:
  Represent the library and promote its services at community outreach events.

High school diploma or G.E.D.

• 1 year customer service experience
• Experience with collection maintenance: processing recalls, weeding materials, and updating catalog records.
• Experience as a team lead or person in charge
• Cash handing experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office and common office equipment.

The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

This is a 37.5 hour per week position. Scheduled hours will fall within the following times:
Monday – Wednesday 9 am - 8 pm and Thursday - Saturday 9 am – 5 pm. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the library. Weekend and evening work are required.

$21.14 – $26.65 / hour
