Description
The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for a full‑time or part‑time, tenure‑or‑non‑tenure, open‑rank Professor of Dermatology specializing in Medical Dermatology and/or Dermatopathology. The department sees approximately 28,000 visits at its main campus and is looking for a faculty member to complement our team of clinicians. A commitment to teaching, clinical excellence, and academic scholarship is essential.
Duties include teaching residents and medical students, providing direct patient care, and participating in scholarly activities.
The University of Virginia Department of Dermatology, founded in 1924, is the oldest dermatology department in the South. Its mission is to enrich the quality of human life by improving health, to produce excellent and compassionate care for our patients, to advance the field of dermatology, to seek medical and scientific knowledge, and to create an environment for professional preparation of individuals dedicated to health care service in the field of Dermatology.
QualificationsQualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be ABMS board‑certified or board‑eligible in dermatology, with fellowship in dermatopathology preferred. Must be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Rank will be dependent on qualifications, experience, scholarly achievement, clinical service, and research.
