Job DescriptionThe Joint School of Public Health at Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University invites nominations and applications for a Lecturer position in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program. The appointment is a 10‑month Non‑Tenure Lecturer position starting July 2026. Salary is negotiable and highly competitive with peer institutions.
The Joint School of Public Health is a candidate for accreditation through the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program, including classroom and distance formats.
- Advise students and administer educational programs; provide constructive communication with students, faculty, administrators, and community stakeholders.
- Serve as the Internship Coordinator for all BS Public Health students.
- Earned Master of Public Health (MPH) from a CEPH‑accredited School or Program, or a master’s degree in a relevant public health discipline.
- Preferred:
Doctoral degree in a public health discipline. - Professional certifications in public health and field work in the profession are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in student advising and administration of educational programs.
- Teaching experience in classroom and distance formats, with proven ability to communicate constructively with students, faculty, administrators, and community stakeholders.
