General Statement of DutiesThe Work-Based Learning Career and Technical Education Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and reporting high‑quality work‑based learning (HQWBL) experiences in accordance with VDOE guidelines, as well as performing related duties under the supervision of the Administrative Coordinator of Workforce Development. The coordinator should be professionally competent and knowledgeable about high‑demand careers, job‑experience placements, and/or career counseling. In addition, the coordinator should understand career and technical education programming, work‑based learning experiences, and career preparation.
Experience working with Schoolinks is a plus.
- Fosters meaningful public relations with business and industry partners and any other relevant entities, to generate and grow the work‑based learning database opportunities for students.
- Set up and maintain HQWBL tracking platform for student applications and progress in compliance with VDOE procedure.
- Ensure all HQWBL experiences are documented and reported at the end of the school year.
- Work with teachers to include HQWBL experiences as part of their CTE‑related programs by speaking to classes and working with teachers/students to complete necessary paperwork.
- Work cooperatively with teachers in identifying eligible CTE students for HQWBL opportunities.
- Ensure students participating in HQWBL are approved through the VDOE certification process.
- Maintain HQWBL information on the Schoolinks platform.
The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications- Must have or be eligible to receive a state teachers license.
- A minimum bachelor’s degree is required.
- Work experience in a related Work-Based Learning field, CTE education or career counseling.
- Strong computer skills to develop and utilize spreadsheets, student and employer databases, and Major Clarity.
This position is for the school year. Actual salary will be prorated based on the candidate's official start date in the assignment.
SalaryMinimum annual starting salary*:
- $72,060.37 (Bachelors)
- $75,519.45 (Masters)
