This assignment supports the head coach in the management of the school's track program, and the development of high school track athletes. It involves assisting with the creation and implementation of training regimens for various track and field events, as well as planning and organizing for daily practice sessions and competitions while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the students on the team.

• Assist in the management of the track program.
• Assists in preparing players for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching fundamental skills, and imparting knowledge of the rules.
• Assists in reviewing eligibility forms and submitting them to the Student Activities Director.
• Assists in collecting all health physical forms.
• Monitors student academic progress.
• Assists in the cleaning, storage, and proper care of team equipment.
• Assist in the requisitions for supplies, uniforms, and necessary equipment through the Student Activities Director.
• Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community informed and engaged with the athletic program.
• Assists in organizing pre-season meetings with parents.
• Helps prepare daily practice schedules and conducts practice sessions.
• Attends VHSL clinics as required.
• Follows county financial policies regarding the collection and receipting of funds.

• Prior experience as a track athlete
• Prior experience as a track coach preferred
