BRCC seeks a full-time Credentialing & Partnerships Specialist to lead the CompTIA IT Credentialing Improvement Project. This position combines strategic partnership development with intensive student support to ensure successful credential attainment. The Specialist manages the lifecycle of IT credentialing pathways—from recruiting industry‑specific cohorts to supporting students through exam preparation and completion.
This position is grant‑funded through June 30, 2027; continuation is contingent upon further funding.
Core Responsibilities- Partnership Development:
Serve as liaison for K‑12 co‑enrollment partnerships and manage B2B contract cohorts for regional sectors (Advanced Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, IT in Healthcare). - Instructional Delivery:
Provide instruction in Workforce IT courses, including CompTIA Tech+ and A+ certifications using Cert Master. - Student Support:
Offer proactive coaching and logistical support to help students schedule and complete certification exams. - Work-Based Learning:
Develop internships, externships, and Registered Apprenticeships for credentialed students. - Internal Pathways:
Collaborate with Cybersecurity faculty to manage Workforce‑to‑Credit pathways and BR2
JMU co‑admission pipeline. - Data & Accountability:
Track student progress in Cert Master and Workforce Enterprise System (WES); ensure compliance with grant milestones.

Minimum Qualifications- Strong relationship‑building skills for partnerships with corporate and K‑12 stakeholders.
- Ability to coach and mentor students to overcome barriers to success.
- Proficiency in data accuracy and reporting for grant compliance.
- Strategic thinking to meet enrollment and apprenticeship targets.
- Independent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in workforce/organizational development, academic advising, or corporate training.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, partnerships, or client accounts.
- Related experience, education, or training in IT, education, or business administration.
- Familiarity with CompTIA certifications and IT industry trends.
- Experience developing Work‑Based Learning programs.
- Proficiency with Canvas LMS, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of CompTIA certification pathways (Tech+, A+, Network+, Security+).
- Prior experience delivering IT instruction or exam preparation.
- Experience building partnerships with corporate and K‑12 stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in managing grant‑funded projects or workforce initiatives.
