Qualifications- Fluency in American Sign Language
- Knowledge and experience in educational and other interpreting situations
- Prefer post Interpreter Training Program
Starting Date: school year
Pay Range:
Position DescriptionInterpret for students with varying degrees of ASL knowledge.
Responsibilities- Facilitate generalization of vocabulary
- Facilitate communication between the deaf student, staff and other students in the general education setting
- Support general education staff and students in follow through of techniques for working with a deaf/hard of hearing student after in-services by Teacher of DHH
- Provide input as needed in the development of the IEP
- Act as a tutor when appropriate and as outlined in the IEP
- Prepare reports, in accordance with established procedures and forms, regarding students' progress
