Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (7:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
Caseload: 2-3 Students, Age Range 2-4 Years Old
Classroom Setting: General Education with Paraprofessional Support
Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team near King George, VA, for the school year. This full-time position involves working with a small caseload of 2-3 young students, ages 2-4, in a general education setting. You will be supported by paraprofessionals in the classroom to help create an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in a general education classroom setting.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to adapt lessons and materials to meet the needs of each student.
- Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to teaching strategies.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to report on student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
Requirements:
- Valid Virginia Special Education Teaching License
- Experience working with young children, particularly those with special needs, is preferred
- Strong understanding of early childhood education and special education practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
