Overview
BRCC is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Technology FT Teaching Faculty member. This is a full-time, 9-month or 12-month, 24-pay Teaching Faculty position with full state benefits. Start dates: 9-month start date is August 2026; 12-month start date is May 2026.

ResponsibilitiesInstructional Duties:
- Teach a full load of courses (including labs) during the academic year. Courses may be offered in person, hybrid, or online depending on program needs.
- Participate in program instructional evaluation and improvement.
- Ensure safe practices are followed in labs, with tool usage and the handling of hazardous materials.
- Assist in the development of student laboratory projects.
- Maintain FAA compliant records and documentation.
- Provide student advising and career guidance.
Institutional Responsibility:
- Participate in annual performance objectives process.
- Support BRCC mission, vision and values.
- Keep current on BRCC policy and procedures.
- Communicate and hold posted student engagement hours.
- Comply with administrative deadlines.
- Participate in BRCC governance, accreditation, and assessment.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships.
Scholarly Engagement and Creativity:
- Participate in advisory council meetings.
- Attend professional conferences or meetings.
- Participate in business/industrial activities of the discipline.
- Make presentations to organizations.
- Revise or develop new curricula or courses.
- Continue education in the discipline as needed.
- Strive to acquire continued education within the industry.
- Maintain, upgrade, and develop laboratory equipment; upkeep and upgrade laboratory as needed.
- Participate in AMT program meetings and projects including data gathering and analysis, accreditation data gathering and reports, and program needs assessment, justification and reporting.
- Provide service to BRCC, AMT Department, and community partners.
Candidates selected for interview will be required to facilitate a teaching demonstration as part of the interview process.

Required Qualifications:
- A&P Airframe and Power Plant Certificate
- Two years field experience
- Familiarity or willingness to be trained on hardware, programs, and internet resources related to the field and education
- Competence with hardware, tools and equipment common to the field
- Ability to teach students effectively and create lesson plans
- Passion for the field of Aviation Maintenance and for teaching
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and cooperation skills
- Commitment to professional growth and development, continued learning, integration of new technology and current pedagogy
- Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students
- Ability to teach a diverse student population
Additional Considerations:
- Additional relevant training/education in Aeronautical Science, Aviation Maintenance Tech
- Post-secondary teaching experience
- Significant full-time equivalent aviation maintenance or aircraft engineering technology or industry experience
- Capability to utilize a learning management system for distance delivery (synchronous and asynchronous)
- FAA certifications or designations (e.g., Inspection Authorization)
- Familiarity with curriculum development and FAR 147 requirements
- Specialized field experience or education (e.g., NDI, composites, electronics, structural repair)
- Evidence of partnership skills with industry and advisory boards
- Evidence of professional scholarly activities and involvement in professional organizations
- Familiarity with accreditation procedures and national standards for the discipline
- Awareness of aviation education considerations in the Commonwealth and beyond
- Experience working in a diverse, multi-cultural setting
