Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Grade 2 Teacher at Locust Grove Primary School. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional growth of young learners. This full‑time position requires a commitment to creating a positive educational experience for all students, while collaborating with colleagues and engaging with parents and the community.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular testing, observations, and feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
- Manage classroom behavior and implement strategies to promote a respectful and safe learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and methodologies.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to plan and coordinate school‑wide events and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other relevant documentation.
- Support students’ social and emotional development through guidance and mentorship.
- Engage with the community and promote parental involvement in the educational process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for Grade 2 or willing to obtain.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for young learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create engaging and age‑appropriate lesson plans.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with parents and the community.
- Previous teaching experience in a similar setting is preferred but not required.
