Village Montessori Academy (VMA), a small, community-centered Montessori school in Richmond, VA, is seeking a trained Elementary Montessori Guide for a part-time position.
Position OverviewThe guide will support our developing elementary program, working with children ages 6–12 in a mixed-age environment. This role is ideal for an educator who values authentic Montessori practice and collaborative school culture.
Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain an authentic Montessori elementary environment
- Present lessons aligned with Montessori scope and sequence
- Support individualized and small-group learning
- Foster independence, responsibility, and respectful community
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and families
- Montessori Elementary credential (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited)
- Experience with elementary-aged children
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development
- Collaborative, flexible, and professional approach
