Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Locust Grove Elementary as a Grade 3 Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This full‑time position requires a passion for teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance the educational experience.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and a love of learning.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, and provide constructive feedback.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement strategies to address challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Support the social and emotional development of students and address individual needs.
- Engage in school activities and events to foster community involvement and support school culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for Grade 3 or the ability to obtain certification.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in an elementary school setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with parents and the community.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
