Teacher - Grade 3

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Locust Grove Elementary as a Grade 3 Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This full‑time position requires a passion for teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance the educational experience.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and a love of learning.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, and provide constructive feedback.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and any concerns.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement strategies to address challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Support the social and emotional development of students and address individual needs.
• Engage in school activities and events to foster community involvement and support school culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification for Grade 3 or the ability to obtain certification.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in an elementary school setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with parents and the community.
• Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
