Part Time Middle School Reading Interventionist – 26/27 SY, POST OAK MIDDLE SCHOOL, Spotsylvania, VA.

• Writes intervention plans for para educators.
• Directly services students with deficits in reading.
• Assists with proctoring duties for state testing.
• Participates in child study team meetings.
• Creates learning resources for teachers, staff, and students.
• Assists with content and curriculum development.
• Facilitates reading‑related professional development for teachers and other school staff.
• Analyzes data for student intervention plans; leverages data to support and implement plans.
• Collaborates with English Learners (EL), Special Education (SPED), and other building coaches for curriculum and lesson planning.
• Attends coaching and Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings to facilitate data discussions regarding literacy instruction.
• Supports teachers in creating reading assessments.
• Co‑teaches pre‑planned lessons with classroom teachers.
• Supports staff in understanding literacy curriculum, including reading/writing standards.
• Supports reading planning of reading lessons.

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to obtain appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board.
• An acceptable rating of prior teaching experience, as applicable.

Preferred

• Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s).
• Prior teaching experience within a public school system.
