9 Month Faculty, Associate Degree Nursing – 2nd Year
Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) is seeking a full‑time 9‑month faculty member for the second year of the Associate Degree Nursing Program. The successful candidate will dedicate themselves to SVCC’s mission of providing quality education to a diverse constituency.
This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with education, experience, and VCCS guidelines, and includes state and VCCS benefits.
Responsibilities- Teach 15 credit hours per semester (day, evening, and/or weekends)
- Provide didactic and clinical instruction at SVCC locations, including student advising, classroom and laboratory teaching
- Participate in professional activities, including mentoring adjunct instructors
- Contribute to program development and assessment efforts
- Assist in documenting compliance with Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and Virginia Board of Nursing standards
- Teach second‑year nursing students
- Meet all clinical partner requirements
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with current enrollment in a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program; must earn MSN within two years
- Current, unencumbered Virginia nursing license (or ability to obtain one before employment)
- Minimum two years of clinical experience in the field of responsibility
- Familiarity with current Virginia State Board of Nursing guidelines
- Ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population
- Competency in and dedication to the use of instructional technologies
- Proficient technology skills for a technology‑heavy learning environment
- Demonstrated teaching skills and understanding of the community college environment and mission
- College‑level teaching experience
- Experience in a community college teaching environment
- Experience in an ACEN‑accredited nursing program

Travel to SVCC campuses, centers, meetings, and training/conferences with access to a state vehicle.
