Hours:

up to 29 hours per week;
Variable schedule.

Writing Center tutors collaborate with students to develop their writing across disciplines and support student success.

• Collaborate with students to develop thinking, writing and reading skills.
• Work one‑on‑one, in small groups, or whole class activities.
• Model academic processes and promote independent learning.
• Document tutoring sessions and participate in professional development.
• Create resources to support student writing at PVCC.
• Assist with other duties as assigned and respond to emergency situations if required.

• Desire to work with and learn from others.

• Demonstrated academic resilience and success in subjects they tutor.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Responsible, dependable, and honest.
• Has sought tutoring in academic work (optional).
