NOVA Workforce is seeking instructors with experience in the following areas:
Instruction and Training- Develop and deliver engaging, hands‑on training programs for students in maintenance and repair skills.
- Instruct students on the use of tools, equipment, and techniques used in maintenance work.
- Provide practical experience through hands‑on projects and simulations.
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and update curriculum materials.
- Ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry standards and best practices.
- Stay up to date on the latest technologies and techniques in the maintenance field.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on buildings and equipment.
- Identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Provide instruction on safety procedures to students.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Provide hands‑on, guided, differentiated instruction to students enrolled in the courses, as specified in the schedule and course contract.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Conduct efficient and effective classroom management.
- Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, assignments, deliverables, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
- Use the institution’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments, and other materials and to communicate with students in a timely manner.
- Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and provide engaging assignments that demonstrate real‑world applications of concepts covered.
- Maintain records of enrollment and attendance, assessments and grades, and submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the department.
- Maintain a hazard‑free environment and practice safety in laboratory or classroom settings.
- Adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with college and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Keep up to date with industry advancements and technologies.
- Maintain professional currency in the field.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to a collaborative and positive learning environment.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Assess student learning through various methods, including practical demonstrations and written exams.
- Promote student success through effective communication and support.
- Possess a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance systems, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Maintain equipment and supplies in the lab.
- Assist with student scheduling and advising.
- Participate in college events and activities.
As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the college expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with college policies, procedures, and regulations.

- Welding Processes & Techniques – In-depth knowledge of SMAW, GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW processes across multiple materials.
- Blueprint Reading & Fabrication – Understanding of welding symbols, blueprints, measurements, and fabrication layout.
- Metallurgy Fundamentals – Knowledge of heat‑affected zones, distortion control, and material properties.
- Welding Codes & Standards – Familiarity with AWS standards (e.g., D1.1 Structural Welding Code) and applicable industry specifications.
