Coach - Head 8th Grade Football - SMS
Montgomery County Public Schools – Shawsville Middle School, Shawsville, VA. This position is open for the 2026‑2027 school year.
Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Athletic Director and/or Principal, the coach must plan and implement a high‑quality athletic program that stresses fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship while maintaining high safety standards for all athletes. The coach must also be committed to high academic standards by monitoring the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators.
- Motivate students.
- Be dependable and punctual, with regular and predictable on‑site attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Age 21 or older.
- Successful completion of the Virginia High School League (VHSL) required courses.
- Effective communication, motivation, and attendance as above.
- Previous coaching experience or participation at the high school or college level.
- Current CPR certification.
$2,336.25 – $3,395.10 per season, depending on experience.
Employment ClassificationNon‑Exempt, Part‑Time.
