Position: After School Program (EDEP) Site Facilitator - Broadus Wood Elementary - 2026-27 School Year

Site Facilitator – Broadus Wood Elementary Extended Day Enrichment After School Program 2026-27 Part‑time 76% – 5.5 hrs/day; 10 months/year General Definition of Work

Facilitates a high quality extended day enrichment program.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains a safe environment. a. Takes all necessary steps and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, facility and equipment. b. Is knowledgeable of students’ special needs to include allergies, medications, medical history and limitations. c. Provides first aid as needed. d. Completes Student Accident Report and submits to Department of Fiscal Services. e. Completes First Report of Accident and submits to Human Resources within 24 hours of notification.

    f. Maintains a clean work area. g. Develops and maintains physical environment that is conducive to effective learning. h. Is aware of students’ whereabouts at all times. i. Coordinates emergency drills with school staff.
  • Oversees daily operation of program. a. Sets goals and develops plan of action to achieve them with input/guidance from EDEP Supervisor and coordinator approval. b. Adapts/revises program to meet the changing needs of staff, students or work environment. c. May be required to function as program director for site. d. Maintains accurate inventory of materials/supplies/resources. e. Prioritizes purchases. f. Maintains the student:teacher ratio;

    hires substitute staff as necessary.
  • Supervises and evaluates staff. a. Addresses employee performance issues. b. Coordinates staff meetings. c. Completes evaluations and probationary reviews in a timely manner with input from EDEP Supervisor. d. Assesses staff training needs and coordinates mentoring/training of staff with EDEP supervisor. e. Completes requisite forms (leave reports, payroll reports, etc) in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains high standards of behavior for staff and students. a. Oversees behavior management system, which is consistent with school’s philosophy. b. Handles severe student behavior problems. c. Models high standards of behavior. d. Expects staff and students to set and maintain high standards of behavior. e. Is familiar with different types/philosophies of behavior management.
  • Maintains accurate attendance records/knowledge of EDEP database. a. Meets students at designated time and location. b. Informs school staff (office personnel, classroom teacher, bus monitor, etc.) of any discrepancies in attendance. c. Develops and implements “Missing Child” procedures. d. Inputs attendance into EDEP database daily. e. Maintains updated student attendance information in database.
  • Provides instructional leadership. a. Guides staff in development of themes and lesson planning. b. Provides a multi‑cultural, integrated curriculum including arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, math, science, social studies, language arts and physical education. c. Ensures lesson plans are age appropriate, hands‑on and experiential. d. Ensures variety of enrichment opportunities is consistently provided. e. Collects lesson plans and submits materials requests at least two weeks in advance.

    f. Accesses a variety of resources, including multi‑media, to motivate children. g. Gathers and prepares necessary materials prior to the arrival of the students. h. Makes reasonable accommodations to include students with special needs. i. Develops lesson plans aligned with the Standards of Learning.
  • Attends administrative meetings as scheduled. a. Attends monthly meetings with EDEP Supervisor. b. Attends additional meetings as scheduled.
  • Provides care for students and participates in all EDEP programs as assigned (student holiday, spring break, and inclement weather).
  • Oversees the distribution of snacks. a. Maintains accurate inventory of snacks and submits to supervisor weekly. b. Facilitates snack storage.
  • Coordinates activities and special events with EDEP and school staff. a. Coordinates schedule with school staff. b. Plans field trips, speakers and extra‑curricular activities with input from EDEP Supervisor and/or Coordinator. c. Collects registration/permission forms and fees for field trips, supplemental classes, etc.
