Paraprofessional  – Primary Level

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months

Under the direction of a certified classroom teacher and/or school administrator, paraprofessionals supplement student education and assist with instruction, behavior management, and/or administrative duties. They support the physical, behavioral, and academic needs of a group of students.

• Minimum high school diploma/GED or higher.
• Has met all requirements for designation of "Highly Qualified" status.
• Complete two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
• Obtain an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
• Meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Experience preferred.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred.

• Serves as a paraprofessional with direct supervision of students.
• Demonstrate professionalism through prompt and regular attendance and appropriate attire.
• Compiles, maintains and submits all required records.
• Communicate concerns regarding academics and behavior in a timely manner.
• Adhere to deadlines.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling.

Background screening:
The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check (fingerprinting).
