Position: Art History Adjunct (Fall 2026)

Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned, including assisting the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Art History
  • Ability to teach in person and online
  • Two years of teaching experience

Adjunct Posting Details Adjunct postings are pool postings, meaning that when there is a need, the divisions pull from the applicants that have applied to this position. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs.

The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment.
Background Investigation

The selected candidate’s offer is contingent upon the successful completion of an extensive criminal background investigation, which may include fingerprint checks, local agency checks, employment verification, verification of education, credit checks (relevant to employment), and other checks requested by the VCCS such as I‑9 and E‑Verify requirements.
