Engineering Technology Adjunct (Summer and Fall 2026)
Germanna Community College is a two‑year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System, serving the residents of the City of Fredericksburg and surrounding counties.
We are seeking an adjunct faculty member capable of teaching Engineering Technology, both in person and online, for the Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 semesters.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in Engineering Technology, both in‑person and via online platforms.
- Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
- Maintain accurate records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
- Adhere to GCC and VCCS policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain current competence in the discipline of Engineering Technology.
- Submit required records and reports in a timely manner.
- Engage in professional ethics and uphold university standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to use relevant technology and learning management systems for instruction, assessment, and communication.
- Commitment to student engagement in online environments, including consistent communication and virtual support.
- Access to reliable Wi‑Fi and suitable computer equipment for remote teaching.
- Experience or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.
- Prior teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with online instruction.
- Demonstrated competence and commitment to continuous professional development in virtual education.
- Completion of “Growing with Canvas” and TOPS 2.2 prior to teaching.
- Advanced teaching credentials or certifications.
- Experience in creating synchronous and asynchronous online courses at a regionally accredited institution.
Position is located in Virginia. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.
Work hours will vary between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm depending on availability and scheduling needs.
Telework may be available subject to business needs.
