Job Description
Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.
Special Education Teacher
Fishersville, Virginia
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Adapt curriculum to meet students' unique needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff.
- Use varied teaching methods to engage students.
- Monitor and assess student progress.
- Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Virginia Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement.
- Experience with students with diverse disabilities.
- Knowledge of special education laws (IDEA).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with assistive technology and adaptive tools.
- Familiarity with behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
- Prior school setting experience.
