Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. In addition to teaching responsibilities which may occur in a variety of settings, at various campuses, and on various days/times, as needed to support student success, the Reynolds SDV instructor serves as SDV program head and assists the school dean with college‑wide management duties and responsibilities for the academic program(s) and/or discipline(s) to which they are assigned, including (but not limited to):
Program Health, Curriculum, Faculty Development and Evaluation, Program Compliance, and Scheduling and Staffing.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s in the teaching field or Associate’s in the teaching field with demonstrated competency in teaching field.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Community college or high school teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to place a strong emphasis on student‑centered learning and provide an innovative learning experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi‑cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion.
Travel between campuses as needed.
