- College degree
- Experience in teaching or other related fields
- Virginia State License
- Experience with vocal and instrumental music
- Experience with Audio and Visual technology

Hours:
8:10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. - Attend teacher workdays and other required days
- Provides 30 minutes of music enrichment instruction for all students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade per week.
- Includes classes on musical instrument families, singing, critical listening activities, and a variety of musical activities.
- Directs four bands of the appropriate instructional level and provides opportunities for performances, including the Christmas and Spring Concerts. Bands include a beginning band (4th grade), Intermediate Band (5th grade), Advanced Band (6th and 7th grades), and High School Band (grades 8 through 12).
- Directs the IWA Chorus, open to students in grades 8 through 12. The class will be held two times a week. The chorus will perform at a minimum of the Christmas and Spring Concerts.
- Directs the Audio/Visual Technician Class, open to students in grades 8 through 12. The class is responsible for providing sound, video, and light support for all IWA events. The class will be held one day per week.
- Teaches the Middle School Music Resource class for students in grades 6 and 7.
- Teaches the Music Appreciation Course, an elective course for students in grades 8 through 12. The course will focus on music history and critical listening skills in the following popular music styles:
Jazz, blues, bluegrass, country, world music, Latin, and rock n' roll. - Directs the IWA Pep Band, consisting of band students from the Advanced and High School Bands. The pep band will perform at four games each for football, boys basketball, and girls basketball.
