Overview
Reynolds Community College, located in the Virginia capital region, seeks qualified individuals to serve as Adjunct History Faculty. The role involves delivering high‑quality instruction in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats to support student learning and success. The position is part‑time and subject to telework arrangements on a case‑by‑case basis.
Responsibilities- Teach history courses in accordance with approved curricula and learning outcomes.
- Develop, deliver, and assess course materials that meet Reynolds and VCCS instructional standards.
- Maintain professional standards in teaching and participate in institutional responsibilities.
- College may assign additional duties as needed, including emergency support for state or agency needs.
- Master’s degree in history or a related field; or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in history.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Experience with online synchronous instruction.
- Availability to teach on‑campus classes.
- Familiarity with Canvas and Zoom.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to student‑centered learning and innovative e‑learning experiences.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government during an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- May be assigned other duties as needed.
Travel among Reynolds campuses and partner sites may be necessary.
