Job DescriptionPiedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
PVCC is nationally recognized for its outstanding transfer curriculum; its relationship with its neighbor, the University of Virginia; and its Workforce Development Programs serving local employers.
The position may include teaching at any PVCC location, including the Giuseppe Center in Greene County and correctional facilities in Fluvanna, Buckingham, and Dillwyn.

Teaching DisciplinesWe are seeking qualified and interested adjunct faculty members in the following teaching disciplines and/or subject areas:
English.
If you are interested in a unique challenge, PVCC will expand credit course offerings in English Composition and Literature for incarcerated students at Fluvanna Correctional Center, Buckingham Correctional Center, and Dillwyn Correctional Center. Please note in your cover letter and/or application that you are specifically interested in teaching a course at one of the prison sites. Minimum QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience.
- Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English
- Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with on-line teaching.
- Ph.D. in English
