Adjunct faculty positions supplement the faculty of the Graduate department wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty hold appointments as defined by their letter of appointment, without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments.

• Doctoral degree in the field/discipline of nursing.

• Advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

• Must have a criminal background check.
• Must be able to drive or travel between locations.
• Unencumbered Virginia Licensure eligibility is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• If certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), continued certification is expected.
• Applicants must submit an unofficial copy of transcripts of post‑secondary coursework with the application. If the applicant’s official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such must be submitted instead of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post‑secondary coursework will be required upon selection for hire.

• Adjunct instructors must attend a scheduled adjunct orientation as offered upon appointment. Orientation date and time will be announced.
