Job DescriptionReynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population.
The primary purpose of this position is to support library special projects. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining content on the library’s Lib Guides, Lib Cal, Lib Wizard and Lib Sites platforms; developing instructional presentations and videos using Canva; uploading videos to the library’s You Tube account and creating closed captions; maintaining electronic resource records in library systems; and assisting with collection development and deselection/weeding.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in information and library science from an academic program accredited by the American Library Association.
- 2 years working in a library setting, using Libguides platform to create online library guides; using a graphic design or screen recording platform; maintaining records in an integrated library system.
- Experience working in an academic library; experience using Alma, Canva, Microsoft Office 365; basic HTML or web coding.
