Adjunct Faculty – Engineering
Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty positions (day, evening, and weekend) in the Engineering department. Positions are course‑by‑course with no health or leave benefits but may offer educational benefits under our professional development and assistance policies. Candidates must reside in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, or DC.
Responsibilities- Teach college‑level courses in Engineering, including distance‑learning, hybrid, and in‑person formats.
- Deliver instruction during day, evening, and weekend sessions as required.
- Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
- Utilize instructional technology and a learning management system (e.g., Canvas) to facilitate online and blended learning.
- Engage with a diverse student population and collaborate with faculty and staff.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (or 18 graduate credits in the field).
- Ability to use instructional technology and online course management tools.
- College‑level teaching experience, preferably online; experience in Canvas or similar is a plus.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Adjunct faculty are paid per credit hour at a rate commensurate with education and relevant teaching experience. The position is part‑time and therefore does not include health or leave benefits, but may offer educational benefits through professional development and educational assistance policies.
