Richard Bland College is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is located outside the Tri‑Cities region, featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.
Responsibilities- Teach Government courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance, as required.
- Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the courses.
- Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce, and/or select course‑related materials.
- Master's degree (or higher) in Government/Political Science (or a closely related discipline) from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the subject area of instruction.
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and instruction.
- Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of first‑ and second‑year college students.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and collaborative style.
- Doctoral degree in Government/Political Science (or a closely related discipline).
- Demonstrated experience as a college faculty member.
- Demonstrated experience implementing innovative education delivery techniques.
