Adjunct Faculty Pool - Microbiology

About the Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a two‑year institution located in Albemarle County, Virginia. PVCC offers a recognized transfer curriculum and workforce development programs.

• Teach developmental and/or college‑level microbiology courses on a course‑by‑course basis.
• Deliver instruction primarily face‑to‑face with the possibility of remote instruction.
• Develop course materials and assessments aligned to learning objectives.
• Provide academic support and feedback to students during class, office hours and online.
• Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.

• Master’s degree in Microbiology or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Microbiology to teach credit‑level coursework.
• Expert knowledge, experience, and a history of successful teaching or related experience in microbiology.
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience and work experience in the field.
• Experience with online teaching and course administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
