MedicalAssistant Instructor – Future Opportunities
Locations: Norfolk, Newport News or Chesapeake
Schedule Options: Full‑time & Part‑time | Day & Evening Shifts
Compensation: Up to $25/hour
Licensure
Required:
RMA or CCMA certification; BLS certification (within 6 months of hire)

What You’ll Do- Teach assigned classes and guide hands‑on learning in labs
- Provide classroom and lab instruction in an engaging, student‑centered way
- Help prepare curriculum and maintain instructional materials
- Keep detailed attendance and academic records
- Submit student grades, evaluations, and required documentation promptly
- Identify and communicate student attendance concerns
- Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development
- Use proven student retention techniques to support learning
- Monitor and maintain classroom and lab equipment and supplies
- Maintain a neat and orderly instructional environment
- Support student progress by completing educational performance modules
- Promote a positive, team‑oriented atmosphere
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree
- RMA or CCMA certification required
- BLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in the medical assisting field
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel occasionally as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or education‑related field
- Experience with Campus Nexus or other student information systems
- Full‑Time
- Split Shift: Mon – Thurs: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM & 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Part‑Time Options
- Mon – Thurs: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Mon – Thurs: 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay Rate: Up to $25/hour (based on qualifications and experience)
