Responsibilities
  • Maintain record keeping of confidential student files, program review and analysis, completion and filing of applicable documents, forms, and reports, and present findings as appropriate, including data for state and federal monitoring.
  • Serve as liaison for community programs that support international and EL students.
  • Serve as provider of residency verification for the expedient school enrollment of Homeless students.
  • Present the social and educational histories at multi-disciplinary teams to develop recommendations for student success.
  • Represent Migrant and Homeless Programs at related meetings; chair or participate on school-based multi-disciplinary team to support regional schools in Migrant Education matters.
  • Help coordinate communication between parents, students, and staff in counseling modalities and other needed services.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Implement individualized tutoring program, facilitate the tutor placement, and assist with hiring, training, and supervising tutors, and tutor students as needed.
  • Collaborate to develop individualized student service and graduation plans, collaborating with the home and school personnel for each student accordingly.
  • Assist school staff and parents in the evaluation of best interested determination for school placement of Homeless students.
  • Identify and enroll Migrant and Homeless students.
  • Collaborate to implement interventions to reduce truancy and improve school and family engagement.
  • Schedule interviews with families to obtain social and educational histories on students.
  • Collaborate extensively with school counselors, teachers, community agencies, agricultural businesses, students and families to support student achievement and engagement.
  • Help coordinate communications between parents, student, and staff, and facilitate parent/student groups.
  • Develop and conduct staff development and in-service.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current and knowledgeable of all program requirements and trainings pertinent to student success.
  • Provide consultation to school staff and parents to assist with improvement in social and school-related problems.
  • Serve as liaison to home, school, and community agencies to provide service and referrals to students and families so as to improve school-related problems.
  • Assist economically disadvantaged students and their parents in identifying appropriate resources to meet their needs.
  • Oversee adult English classes and synthesize curriculum.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of child behavior and development, ability to interpret educational, socio-cultural, and language tests and measurement; knowledge of community agency partnerships; knowledge of best practices and research in education, economically disadvantaged risk factors, English language acquisition and development, cultural competency, student equity and access, mental health and trauma-informed practices; ability to design and present professional development; knowledge of psychosocial functioning, youth and family dynamics, organizational behavior and interpersonal relations;

ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of people; ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and populations; ability to work independently and without supervision; ability to make responsible decisions; skilled at oral and written communication; capacity to manage complex projects with multiple components, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience

Requires graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires four years of related experience. Master’s degree is preferred. Experience communicating with youth and adults with limited English-speaking abilities preferred.…
