Job Description
Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for adjunct, part‑time faculty (day, evening and weekend) positions in Math. Adjunct Faculty positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis as needed. Applicants must reside in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland or DC.
Responsibilities- Teach college level math courses, including distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends.
- Prepare course materials and assessments, maintain accurate and current course information.
- Utilize instructional technology and online learning systems to support student learning.
- Maintain a professional, inclusive classroom environment supporting a diverse student population.
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or related field, or Master’s with at least 18 graduate credits in the field.
- College‑level teaching experience; online teaching experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in instructional technology and experience with Canvas or other learning management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.

Compensation and BenefitsPay:
Rate per credit hour commensurate with education and relevant teaching experience. Position is part‑time and therefore not eligible for health or leave benefits. Educational benefits may be available through professional development and educational assistance policies.
Telework may be an option for certain eligible positions, determined by job requirements. Virginia state employees are expected to return to the workplace as of July 5, 2022, but telework may remain available for eligible positions.
Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned and to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
