Overview

Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for adjunct, part-time faculty in English. Positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching college-level courses, which may include distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends. This position will be located on the Middletown Campus. The position is for daytime teaching, in-person, at our Middletown campus.

Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty listings are on a continuous, open until filled basis. Applicants will be contacted on an as needed basis. Compensation and Benefits

The credit hour pay range is $794.00-$1,375.50. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, educational benefits may be available through our professional development and educational assistance policies.

Telework and Work Schedule

The position follows a day-shift, in-person work schedule. Telework may be an option for certain eligible positions, as defined by agency heads and current policy. Telework options are subject to change based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Teach college-level English courses, including potential online or hybrid formats.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades in the College's learning management system.
  • Adapt instruction to a diverse student population and varied learning environments.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff as needed to support student success.
Qualifications
  • Masters in English, Journalism, or Literature or Masters with 18 credits of English.
  • Ability to use instructional technology is required.
Additional Considerations
  • Occupational experience in the field.
  • Experience with Canvas or other online course management tools.
  • College-level teaching experience; online experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
