Job Overview

Germanna Community College is offering a part‑time Workforce Instructor position in Skilled Trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding, Fiber Optics) for summer and fall 2026. Adjunct faculty teach up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring semesters and up to 8 credit hours during summer sessions. There is no expectation of continued employment beyond the contract.

This position is located in Virginia and requires the instructor to reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.

Hours will vary between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm depending on availability and scheduling needs.

Pay range: $836 – $1,737 per credit hour.

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.

Faculty members are expected to meet assigned classes regularly, submit required records and reports, teach prescribed courses with established texts, and adhere to professional ethics, college policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Demonstrated skills and experience in the subject area.
• History of successful teaching experience.
• Subject matter expertise and experience in facilitating learning.

• Ability to teach online, and/or willingness to learn and effectively utilize online learning platforms.
• Industry certifications in respective fields.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.

May be required to travel to any college campus or center as needed.
