Adjunct Faculty - Early Childhood Development Job Description
This position offers part‑time adjunct faculty teaching in Early Childhood Development at Blue Ridge Community College. The faculty member will develop, deliver, and assess course content for a combination of day, evening, online, and hybrid courses, individually or in a blended format, as determined by the department. The role may require a teaching demonstration.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in Early Childhood Development, preparing lesson plans, presentations, and materials.
- Deliver course content in multiple delivery formats (in‑person, online, hybrid).
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and participation; provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with department faculty and administrators on curriculum and course design.
- Maintain a professional classroom environment and uphold academic standards.
- Assist the college or state government in emergency situations when required.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- At least two years of relevant occupational experience.
- Demonstrated ability to teach in a college environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Pay is $793–$1,693 per credit hour. The position is paid per credit hour and may be combined across day, evening, online, or hybrid courses. Telework options may be available subject to business needs.
