Adjunct Religion Faculty (Part-Time) - Introduction to the Study of Religion

We are seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach REL 100, Introduction to the Study of Religion, a hybrid course for the Fall 2026 semester. Applicants must submit a state online application, resume, transcripts, and any required cards.

• Explore the concept of religion as a general academic category.
• Instruct students on how to study religion within a formal academic context.
• Examine common elements across various religions, including beliefs, practices, values, and community.
• Discuss spiritual experience, symbolism, and narrative as they relate to global religious traditions.
• Deliver instruction in a hybrid format, ensuring high‑quality course materials align with college standards.
• Maintain engagement through the Canvas Learning Management System for the online portion of the course.
• Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments as needed to support academic success.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Religious Studies or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams.
• Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
• Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of and commitment to the mission of a community college and to student success.
• Teaching experience at the college level, specifically with face‑to‑face and online/hybrid modalities.
• Competency using instructional technologies such as SMART boards, Zoom, and the Canvas Learning Management System.
• Experience working with community college students.
• Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success.

Applications will be received, reviewed, and considered continuously until positions are filled. The position pays $793.00 to $1,098.00 per credit; salary depends on qualifying rank. The appointment is on a course‑by‑course, semester basis.
