NOVA Workforce is seeking instructors with experience in the following areas:
Instruction and Training:- Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on training programs for students in maintenance and repair skills.
- Instruct students on the use of tools, equipment, and techniques used in maintenance work.
- Provide practical experience through hands‑on projects and simulations.
- Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and update curriculum materials.
- Ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry standards and best practices.
- Stay up to date on the latest technologies and techniques in the maintenance field.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on buildings and equipment.
- Identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Provide instruction on safety procedures to students.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Adjunct postings are pool postings, meaning that when there is a need, the divisions pull from the applicants that have applied to this position. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment.

Job DescriptionGeneral Description:
NOVA Workforce Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face‑to‑face, remote and online. The teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantees of continued employment.
Must reside in the (DC, VA, MD) DMV area.
- Provide hands‑on, guided, differentiated instructions to students enrolled in the courses, as specified in the schedule and course contract.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Conduct efficient and effective classroom management.
- Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the institution, assignments and deliverables, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
- Use the institution’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments, and other materials and to communicate with students, in a timely manner.
- Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and provide interesting and engaging assignments that demonstrate the real‑world applications of concepts covered.
- Maintain records of enrollment and attendance, assessments and grades, and submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the department.
- Maintains a hazard free environment and practices safety in lab(s) or classroom.
- Adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with college and departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
