Responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that supports students' academic growth, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. The teacher creates an engaging, inclusive, and safe learning environment while aligning instruction with state standards, curriculum frameworks, and school goals. This role includes planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, providing feedback, and collaborating with colleagues, families, and the community.
Essential Duties Instruction & Planning- Develop and deliver daily lesson plans aligned with state and district standards.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Implement differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications to support all learners.
- Integrate technology and innovative practices into teaching to enhance student engagement.
- Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and learning.
- Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Manage classroom routines to ensure safety, orderliness, and instructional time
- Design formative and summative assessments to measure student learning.
- Analyze data to monitor progress, adjust instruction, and support student achievement.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in department meetings, team planning, and school initiatives.
- Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, and support personnel as needed.
- Attend work daily and fulfill all assigned responsibilities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to refine instructional practice.
- Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and required documentation.
- Uphold all school and district policies, including professional and ethical standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Compensation is based on a minimum hourly rate of $33.98.
- Actual hourly rate is determined by prior full-time teaching experience and highest level of education
- Compensation is calculated on semi-monthly hours accrued not to exceed a 3.00 hours per day limit.
- This is a 10-month (209-day) part-time teaching position with a contractual start date of August 17, 2026.

Minimum Requirements- Must hold or be eligible for a valid Virginia license with an endorsement in the relevant content area.
- Knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum design, and adolescent development.
- Strong skills in communication, collaboration, classroom management, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and school community members.
- Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the classroom and school building.
- Ability to lift or move instructional materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to monitor students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, and school grounds.
