The Chair of the Department of Biostatistics at VCU's School of Public Health provides strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the department's research, education, and service missions. Reporting to the Dean, the Chair serves as the chief academic officer, responsible for fostering innovative research, recruiting and mentoring faculty, expanding student enrollment, and advancing the department's national profile. This is a 12-month tenure-track appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
Keyqualifications
- PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or related field
- Academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor
- Demonstrated excellence in biostatistics research with extramurally-funded grant portfolio
- Successful administrative and leadership experience in academic or public health institutions
- Experience mentoring faculty, early-stage investigators, and graduate students
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
