An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.

Instructional Technology Coach candidates must complete a portfolio and candidate eligibility interview as part of the application process.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position assists teachers with the planning and integration of technology in academic settings, trains teachers to use technology in an effective manner, and assists with curriculum development as it relates to educational technology. This position collaborates on an ongoing basis with the school Technical Support Specialist (TSSPEC); this professional partnership is critical to the success of technology implementation and integration.

This position is responsible for modeling instructional strategies, provides training and professional development to staff, supports curriculum, and performs similar kinds of duties and responsibilities as the School Division/Building Administrator deems appropriate. This position must demonstrate the professional ability and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with school personnel and members of the community.

Job Summary

This position works with educators to improve student achievement in all content areas through the effective design and implementation of classroom instruction. Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) duties include providing professional learning and coaching throughout the year for instructional staff, based on assessed Division, school, and/or educator needs. The Instructional Technology Coach position aligns with and supports the PWCS Strategic Plan and school-based Continuous Improvement Plans.

This position performs work under the direction of building principal and the guidance of the Department of Information and Instructional Technology.

  • Designs and facilitates projects, courses, workshops, seminars, and trainings in alignment with the PWCS Strategic Plan, PWCS Profile of a Graduate, continuous improvement plans, school goals, the Professional Performance Process Standards, and national standards for professional learning.
  • Develops collaborative and professional working relationships with colleagues, school faculty, administrators, and members of the Office of Teaching and Learning, Office of the Chief Information Officer, as well as other offices and departments as needed.
