Political Science Adjunct (Summer and Fall 2026)

Germanna Community College is a public, open‑access institution in the Virginia Community College System located in Fredericksburg, VA. The College serves as a regional leader in education and offers a dynamic learning environment for students.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.

We are currently seeking adjunct faculty members for daytime, in‑person teaching assignments in the field of Political Science.

• Effectively plan and deliver classroom instruction, including assessments and student feedback.

• Engage students in the learning process and support their academic success.

• Collaborate with faculty and staff as needed.

• Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in the specific discipline.
• Official transcripts required prior to final offer.
• Demonstrated ability to use relevant technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
• Commitment to student engagement in online environments, including maintaining consistent communication and virtual support.
• Technology capability (access to Wi‑Fi, computers) to teach remotely.
• Ability to teach in a variety of modalities, including virtual formats.
• Demonstrated competency and commitment to continuous professional development in virtual education.
• Completion of Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2 prior to teaching.

• Prior teaching experience.
• Work experience in the field.
• Experience with online instruction.
• Proven experience developing online courses in synchronous and asynchronous settings at a regionally accredited institution.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.
