Education Program Coordinator – Global Affairs

• Provide one-on-one academic advising to students incorporating study abroad into their curriculum
• Analyze students’ academic information and social needs to create curated program recommendations
• Advise incoming and outgoing students on exchanges, faculty-led programs, international internships, and research abroad
• Coordinate recruitment, outreach, advising, and administration of outgoing international programs
• Evaluate course offerings and academic equivalencies at international partner institutions
• Support outgoing students throughout the application process and while abroad
• Cultivate relationships with international partner institutions and address student concerns
• Maintain knowledge of scholarship, financial aid, registration, and partner deadlines
• Direct development and maintenance of program websites and student-facing brochures
• Collaborate on data management and coordinate with International Admissions
• Advise incoming international exchange students and assess English proficiency as needed
• Monitor academic registration and progress for compliance with federal immigration requirements
• Liaise with Mountaineer Hub on payment, registration, and enrollment concerns
• Communicate Education Abroad policies and procedures to WVU advisors
• Present orientation programs and develop student and departmental information sessions
• Execute outreach initiatives engaging over 3,000 individuals annually
• Develop print and digital training and informational materials
• Design and execute intercultural programming events
• Prepare detailed reports after conferences or international site visits

• Bachelor’s degree required
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in higher education and student advising
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered
• Extensive cross-cultural experience and experience working with students of varying English language ability
• Knowledge of financial assistance rules
• Ability to work effectively with students and others from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced office setting while balancing competing priorities
• Excellent intercultural communication skills
• Master’s degree in related field preferred
• International higher education experience preferred
• International student advising experience preferred
• Experience working within immigration and travel regulations preferred

Demonstrates expertise in academic advising, particularly in study abroad programs, while effectively managing student needs and compliance with immigration regulations. Possesses strong organizational, analytical, and intercultural communication skills to support diverse student populations.
