* General Description:

** This position is responsible for delivery of instruction in sensitive areas of Family Life Education to students through a process of planning, delivering, and evaluating instruction of specific goals and objectives as established by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) in high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools. Work is performed under general supervision within specific guidelines, and requires handling of sensitive information and dealing tactfully with others.

Considerable professional judgment is required.
This position is paid at a daily rate of $232.97.#

* Essential Job Functions:

*** Follows lesson plans provided;
Serves appropriate duty assignments
* Maintains order within the classroom setting in accordance with division guidelines regarding student behavior management
* Leaves appropriate documentation for the teacher
* Ensures compliance with existing applicable federal and state statutes and local policies, regulations and guidelines related to public schools.
* Performs other duties as assigned

** Report Preparation:
** Prepares reports related to position, as requested
** Equipment Operation:
** Operates personal computer, basic office equipment, and equipment related to program instruction
** Contacts:
** Teachers, students, instructional assistants, building administrators, and parents

** This position does not supervise or provide work direction to others.
** Decision Making:
** This position performs the majority of functions independently within the guidelines of school board policy and state law.

** Physical Demands:
** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to lift, support, handle or feel objects, tools, equipment and/or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.  The employee is required to stand, walk, and sit. Requires some climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
** Work Environment:
** Work is performed in a public school.  The noise level is typically quiet to moderate.
** Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*** Working knowledge of family and maternal and child health nursing; of the concepts, principles, and methodologies of instruction; and of academic curriculum for assigned classes
* Demonstrated ability to develop instructional goals; to design and deliver instruction; to assess students’ learning; and to communicate with others effectively, both orally and in writing
* Demonstrated skill in decision making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, and planning#

Job Requirements:

** Degree in Nursing; RN required
